Some designs transcend function to become something more—a presence, a memory, a living sculpture. Stemma, created by One to One By Martin Doller, is not just a chandelier but the heart of a home. A piece that breathes light, history, and the rhythm of a family’s life.

Suspended from a 9-meter-high skylight, Stemma stretches 15 meters long, 5 meters wide, and 6 meters tall, making it the largest residential chandelier in the world. Inspired by the play of sunlight through a forest canopy, 350 handcrafted aluminum leaves reflect and diffuse the warm glow of 150 energy-efficient LEDs, creating an atmosphere of serenity and movement.

Its name, Stemma – Latin for family tree – captures its soul. Like the branches of a great oak, the light spreads and shifts, a symbol of connection, of past and future intertwining. Each leaf was hand-finished with four layers of patina, a process that took months of experimentation and the expertise of a master artisan.

Beyond its beauty, Stemma is built to endure. Crafted entirely from recyclable aluminum, it was engineered for easy disassembly, allowing its thousands of components to be neatly packed into a 6-meter container for seamless transport from Cape Town to Nigeria.
