In the dynamic world of design, emerging talents and studios are doing much more than merely illuminating stages and venues; they are shaping the future of design, where every beam of light and silhouette casts a narrative. Let’s explore three such trailblazers!
AMA-KO – Yoko Seyama Art & Scenography
AMA-KO, crafted by Yoko Seyama Art & Scenography, is a meditative fusion of light and sound, drawing inspiration from the concept of “Raindrums”. Berlin-based multimedia artist Yoko Seyama, alongside composer Dirk P Haubrich, transports viewers to a serene realm with fluorescent melting ice drops ringing steel drums, set to the music of Louis Couperin.
This installation exemplifies sustainability through its flexible design, employing reusable materials to create a mesmerizing spectacle at Nikolaisaal Potsdam, Germany.
Phantom – Light is More
Phantom, designed by Light is More for the Accor Group, transforms Paris’s Accor Arena into a realm of visible and invisible wonders. Pauline David leads this venture into a dream-like Paris, where futuristic and baroque inspirations merge.
Spectators are invited to a luminous journey through the Louvre’s courtyards, with dazzling arches and a suspended mirror reflecting and distorting reality, offering a unique blend of lighting design and robotics.
Deep Time – Eleftheria Deko & Associates
Deep Time, a live show for Louis Vuitton’s High Jewelry Collection at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus in Athens, showcases the brilliance of Eleftheria Deko & Associates.
Directed by Dimitris Papaioannou, this performance illuminates Francesca Amfitheatrof’s exquisite creations. Innovative lighting design highlights the jewellery’s radiance against the backdrop of a mythological narrative, culminating in a breathtaking spectacle of light and reflection.
