Milano, the spotlight was also on Euroluce 2025, the biennial exhibition dedicated to the world of lighting, set to take place from April 8 to 13, 2025, in pavilions 1-3 at Rho Fiera-Milano. A key showcase for technological advancements, Euroluce serves as a launchpad for industry innovations, with this year’s edition focusing on key trends shaping the future of lighting: technology, sustainability, intelligent systems, AI integration, biophilic design, and an increasing emphasis on user-controlled lighting environments that create tailor-made atmospheres.
Most significantly, Euroluce 2025 will debut as the first-ever International Lighting Forum, a program of talks and expert discussions featuring renowned international guests.

Euroluce 2025: a space to explore
No details have yet been revealed regarding the pavilion layouts, exhibitor stands, or visitor routes. However, The City of Light—Euroluce’s experimental 2023 edition—set a new precedent for displaying lighting products in darkened pavilions with general lighting switched off, allowing visitors to appreciate each installation’s aesthetic and functional characteristics fully. The upcoming Euroluce 2025 will feature over 300 exhibitors, with 46.5% coming from international markets. Carlo Urbinati, President of Assoluce, FederlegnoArredo, shared his perspective:

The First International Lighting Forum
A two-day event entirely dedicated to lighting design will take place on April 10-11. The Euroluce International Lighting Forum will explore the themes Light for Life and Light for Spaces. Curated by Annalisa Rosso, Editorial Director and Cultural Events Advisor of Salone del Mobile. Milano, in collaboration with APIL, the forum will present an engaging program of masterclasses, round tables, and workshops, reimagining light and design through an interdisciplinary lens.
The lineup of speakers includes the artist Robert Wilson, the plant neurobiology pioneer Stefano Mancuso, the acclaimed solar designer Marjan van Aubel, and the Japanese lighting designer Kaoru Mende, who will explore the present and future of lighting design. Also present will be Hervé Descottes from L’Observatoire International, renowned for his innovative and artistic approach to lighting. His impressive portfolio includes projects such as the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Qatar National Museum in Doha, the High Line, and the Lincoln Center in New York.

The forum will take place in a stunning bio-inspired setting, The Forest of Space, an immersive arena designed by Sou Fujimoto. Anticipation is high, though for now, only the architect’s initial concept sketches have been revealed.
