Highlights

Marble is a material of timeless elegance, synonymous with luxury and durability. Since ancient times, architects have used it for monumental structures, while sculptors have transformed it into masterpieces. Today, designers continue to explore its potential, creating marble lamps that highlight the stone’s unique veins and natural tones. These lighting pieces bring a refined aesthetic to any space, blending function with artistic beauty.

Marble lamps: luminous sculptures for any space

The true charm of a marble lamp lies in its dual nature. When turned off, it is an exquisite decorative object, whether minimalist or artistically intricate. When illuminated, the light enhances the marble’s natural patterns, casting soft, warm reflections. Whether a historic icon or a contemporary piece, these lamps instantly elevate interiors with sophistication. Below, we showcase 8 marble lamps that demonstrate the enduring appeal of this material.

The opening image features Snoopy by Flos, a marble table lamp designed in 1967 by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. Its Carrara marble base and metal reflector pay tribute to the comic strip character.

Flos, Biagio

Designed by Tobia Scarpa in 1968, Biagio is a statement piece crafted from a single block of Carrara marble. With its organic, fluid shape and solid weight (7 kg), this old marble lamp blends sculptural artistry with functionality. When lit, its veins become more pronounced, adding depth and warmth to its appearance.

Compact yet refined, Emma is part of a lighting collection made from Guatemala green marble. Available as a wall sconce, table lamp, and pendant, its opal white glass diffuser ensures a uniform glow. Ideal for residential, retail, and hospitality settings, this marble base lamp is both stylish and versatile.

Tom Dixon, Stone

British designer Tom Dixon selected Morwad marble—the same stone used for the Taj Mahal—to create Stone, a collection of marble table lamps, candle holders, and home accessories. «This semi-precious, uniquely veined surface has fascinated architects, sculptors, and designers for millennia. It’s both strong and tactile, heavy yet enduring», the brand states.
